What's new on Itunes this week

What's new and hot on itunes this week?

Oct 27th 2010

I love TUESDAY'S! I love itunes telling me what is new and helping me find my musical loves. Every Tuesday I eagerly search through the new singles and albums and this is my favorites for this week.

WE R WHO WE R-Ke$ha
I am seriously so obsessed with this song! As soon as I heard it,  I said out loud OH That's Fun!

Here I am- Trey Songz & Monica
This song is a little baby makin' but it is really good. Their voices sound REALLY good together. Come on.. who doesn't like a sexy time song-- just use it appropriately. haha

Mine-Taylor Swift
As much as I don't want to like Taylor Swift, I really do like this song.

I hope you like my picks this week and come back next week to see what I pick next week!

Lots of Love,
ASH

Weird things--

I thought I would share this weird picture I have taken with my phone:

That is a foot in the parking lot of my apartment building. I walked past it, stoped, turned around and looked again. Why is there a deer foot just hanging out in the parking lot in the middle of Springfield? This I expect this in the boothill, but it was just so random in town.

Things I am excited about this week!

Things I am excited about this week!

Next Saturday I am going to see Aretha Franklin with my Mom at Drury University!

I love my Aretha. I have been a huge fan since I was in middle school. I am so excited, this was on my bucket list. She is the Queen of Soul people, this is reason to be VERY excited! Pictures to be posted post concert!

Pumpkin carving

I made a list of things I wanted to make sure I did this Fall:
  1. Ride the Branson Scenic Railway-- CHECK
  2. Plan a trip to see friends-- CHECK CHECK (St. Louis & Oklahoma respectively)
  3. Carve a pumpkin-- After today CHECK!
I met up with Shelley and Leisa from work and we ate lunch at the Market Bistro (yummy) and then bought some pumpkins and carved them. They kept it classic, but I went a little more creative. I don't know why, but when I saw my particular pumpkin I just imagined it with glasses.

This is only the 3rd pumpkin that I have ever carved, so I think I am getting better! It just cracks me up that now that I live on my own I am creating my own traditions. Until after college I had never carved a pumpkin before and now it just does not feel like Fall until I have done that. So, feast your eyes on our creations!

ALL ABOARD!

ALL ABOARD!
Those of you who know me very well know that I LOVE really random things. I like to go places that others would normally assume are boring, awkward, or a waste of time. I view most of those things as a way to meet interesting people and act ridiculous without caring about what any of the people around you think about your behavior.

I have wanted to go to the Branson Scenic Railway since I was 12 years old. I very vividly remember the first time I saw it. I had gone to Branson early for Thanksgiving with my grandparents and they took me downtown to see the thrift shops and the five and dime. While we were down there we passed the train, my Grandpa commented on the train and I knew I had to go on it someday. I wanted to ride that train and I wanted to do it in the fall when I could admire all of the beautiful trees. Many moons have passed (12 years to be exact), but last weekend I went on that train and it was so fun.

I took one of the ladies from my office and we made a whole day of it. We went to the Landing, got our shop on, ate at Cantina Laredo then went to buy our tickets for the train. The train was cute and very old school, which I loved, and we made our way down to Arkansas and back. The trees were all changing and we had 2 hours to just talk and relax.

I love being able to make childhood dreams come true. These things might seem silly, but every time I get to do something that I had wished about it makes me so happy and proud. As a budding adult I can go after my long term dreams of being a successful business woman without forgetting the joys of being a kid and dreaming about silly and wonderful things. Life is about the journey-- So I say ALL ABOARD! Join me on this crazy trip!

This is part of the view-- So pretty

A weekend with the Tanners

A couple of weekends ago my parents came to see me in Springfield. Mom and Dad had not been up to see me in a while, so I was excited for them to come up. My parents are very busy people and rarely just "cut loose" so when they come I try to show them a good time.

We started off with a dinner at Olive Garden. (One of my Dad's favorite places in the world. DO NOT get him started about the soup and salad deal-- I mean it. He feels very strongly about it) Next, we headed next door to K-mart. I do not remember why we originally went there, but it quickly turned into a ridiculous adventure. At some point we were walking around and Mom mentioned that she wanted to find a new lamp shade for the lamps in their living room. If you have ever seen the lamps/lampshades you would agree that this is an excellent idea. So, we start looking at the shades and Mom is debating between two so I offer a "helpful" piece of advice. Just try to put them on your head and which ever one looks better is the winner since you will be wearing it the next time you have a drunken party. ** Side note: I honestly joke about these things with my very Godly parents, they know I am joking, and I think they enjoy it a litte** So, I promptly plop one on my head and start dancing around. The next thing I know my Mom plops one on her head and is dancing around to the Abba Song "Dancing Queen"  We are laughing and dancing and then when I take the lampshade off of my head I realize that there is an old lady who just took a picture of us with her camera phone. OOPSIE!

The following pictures were taken shortly after the lampshade incident. My parents have a reputation for being rather serious, but they are very funny and when well fed and tired they really act up-- and I like that a LOT!

What I've been up to:Getting certified in Social Media Marketing

I have been considering going back to school to take some special classes in marketing or design. So, last Wednesday I contacted someone at Drury to find out class schedules for the next semester, and while talking to a lady she mentioned they had a social marketing certification masters class. The next session would start the following week. I was blown away, I had been thinking about taking something like that, but did not know where I would find one around here. I then checked and found out that my work would pay for me to take this class, as it will help the company expand it marketing assistance. This was all too good to be true! So, Monday I had my boss sign off on my taking the class and contacted someone to register to Drury so I could then sign up for my class. I was concerned with only having 2 days to get the paperwork done for my class, when I called a representative in the masters office I found out I only had one day. The class was starting TOMORROW!! WHAT?! She sent over paperwork and I faxed it right back. BAM-- in about 15 minutes it was all done.

I have been super nervous about going back to school for some reason. I know it is going to be ok, but I just freak myself out about that kind of stuff. I was always a good student and I am capable of handling the work load.  So, I had my first class last night and it went well. I think it is going to be really good and I am going to learn a lot! I am investing in my future and it is scary and exciting! So, I am hoping on the social media bandwagon. YEHAW!

Style envy-this week

LAUREN CONRAD!
I know, she was on the Hills and Laguana Beach--and people thought those shows were lame.... Blah blah blah. WHATEVER! We are about the same age, so I feel like for my college years I was growing up with LC and the gang. Plus, she left the show right before it got EVEN more ridiculous to the point it was inbearable to watch. I am glad she is doing well in her post reality show life. She seems grounded. I will admit I have read her first two novels, and they were really fun poolside reads. I am excited to read her newest. Its not great American literature, but it is very entertaining.

I am also very excited to see her new style book as well. I am super jealous of her style. She does the perfect slight cat eye and beatiful red lips... just so clean and fresh and pretty-- I wish I could pull that off.  Her hair especially makes me super jealous. It is so cute! I like the little braids it makes me wanna hire a glam team. The picture below is just beyond pretty.
PS- Speaking of great hair--I found a great new salon in Springfield. I went to AVBS this week and it was AMAZING. They have great walk in deals on Tuesday and Wednesday nights so I can a great haircut, the best shampooing experience of my life (no seriously, it was Fan-freakin-tastic) all for $23 bucks! I look fierce and my bank account appreciates it too! So, check it out-- you will not be sorry!

So you fancy huh?

A couple of weeks ago we discussed making a promo for one of our Account Executives in Branson named Larry. As most of you know, I love doing creative projects like this-- and I recently decided I would love to do things like this as my "BIG KID" dream job. So, I helped write and come up with creative direction. Nate of course did the leg work and Larry did a good job. I am so proud of this little piece! It was a lot of fun, and during production included Larry having to put the microphone down his pants. Which then spurned the catchphrase. "Don't be nervous, you look great especially for a guy with a mic down his pants!"  Check it out. An OnMedia production--with a little Atan sparkle.
**DISCLAIMER- Now, nobody crank call him since I am puting this up here and ladies-- he is taken so lets keep it PG, huh.

You make me wanna fist pump!

First of all I would like togive a shout out to  to my friend Becca aka "Jantzey!"
We met for sushi the other night and she was telling me that she has been enjoying my blog, when I ask specifically what she liked she told me she likes when I talk about songs and what they make me wanna do. For some reason , the way she  worded that really cracks me up-- so Jantzey and other faithful followers you wanna know what song makes me wanna swing my new weave and fist pump like I am Snookie from Jersey shore....even though I have no idea what half the lyrics are saying?

FEAST your EARS on this ridiculous and recent obsession of mine. Like a G6- Far East Movement.

Creativity and laughter will always win my heart!

Here are two clips about love that I love!

One of the ladies at work showed me this today and it warmed my tiny cold dead heart. They went to a movie and this played as a preview. I just think this is beyond adorable. GOOD work boys! Be sweet, be creative, and earn your ladies love and affection!

This was a clip from last week's Mike and Molly a show on CBS. For some reason their converation about the snapper got me laughing so hard. As much as I wanted to not like this show, Sookie from Gilmore Girls is just so adorable, I can't help myself. Check out the clip below-- so ridiculous!
